A Maintenance Technician installs, maintains and repairs production machinery, equipment, physical structures, pipe and plumbing and assists in the installation of electrical systems in a high-production industrial environment. He/She also operates a forklift as necessary.
A Maintenance Technician observes mechanical devices in operation and listens to their sounds to locate causes of trouble and examines the form and texture of parts to detect imperfections and changes in dimensional requirements. He/She inspects and measures
parts to detect wear, misalignment or other problems and visually inspects, listens to and troubleshoots machinery, equipment and mechanical devices. He/She adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments, repairs or replaces defective parts and/or
dismantles defective machines/equipment to gain access to and/or remove defective parts. A Maintenance Technician also tests malfunctioning machinery and discusses the malfunction with supervisor and/or other maintenance workers to diagnose the malfunction.
A Maintenance Technician lubricates and cleans parts and orders and/or installs new or repaired parts when required. He/She installs or repairs basic electrical apparatus such as wiring and electrical or electronic components of machinery and equipment and starts devices to test their performance. He/She assists in the installation of feeders, branch circuit wiring and conduit for newly installed machines and equipment such as robots, conveyors and/or programmable controllers on CNC equipment. He/She troubleshoots malfunctioning apparatus such as transformers, motors, lighting fixtures, relays and contactors and replaces damaged or broken wires and cables and repairs or replaces faulty electrical components of the machine such as relays, switches and motors and positions sensing devices.
A Maintenance Technician diagnoses and repairs or replaces faulty electronic components such as printed circuit boards and pushes buttons/keys on the robot controller, teach pendant and/or programmable controller to program automated machinery, such as robots, to operate automated machinery, to test for malfunctions and/or to verify repairs.
A Maintenance Technician diagnoses and replaces faulty mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic components of machines and equipment and lays out, assembles, installs and maintains pipe systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment and repairs and replaces gauges, valves, pressure regulators and related equipment.
A Maintenance Technician repairs and maintains the physical structure of establishment and operates a cutting torch or welding equipment to cut or join metal parts. He/she also fabricates and repairs counters, benches, partitions and other wooden structures and installs and repairs or replaces plumbing fixtures.

Minimum two (2) years of experience and/or training in the area of maintaining production machinery/equipment; a good understanding and working knowledge of mechanical systems; and ability to read and interpret schematics, blueprints and other related drawings
Heavy equipment manufacturing background and experience safely operating a forklift a plus.
Valid driver's license; willingness to work any shift at any of the Chattanooga locations; flexibility to work additional hours; drug screen, physical and background/motor vehicle report (MVR) check.
